Ok, try not to pay too much attention to the dates over the next couple posts. I am a bit of a slacker.

So what the hell happened to Cafe 150? The place looked deserted. For the life of me I can't figure out why either. The food was (is still I imagine) pretty damn good. I mean look at it. LOOK! I want to petition to revive Cafe 150. Who's with me? Actually, I'll just try to go there more often. A petition sounds like too much effort.

2nd To Last Burrito Thursday

I only have a couple more Thursday afternoon classes left. Woohoo! You know what that means? No more 20 minute drive old, premade burrito Thursdays. Never fear though, because it doesn't mean I will stop eating burritos altogether. That day will never come. It only means that Burrito Day may or may not fall on a Thursday.

Made the trek to the Basic Deli today. We biked there and then walked back because someone else needed our bikes. Maybe they needed to go to Charlies? I got the pulled pork sandwich on wheat, some roasted cauliflower, some mixed greens, some raspberry frozen yogurt, and washed it all down with some iced tea. Good stuff. Try to guess what order I ate my lunch in?

Anyway, not sure how we got on the topic, but did you know there is a giant mass of trash (twice the size of Texas) floating in the pacific? I looked around a bit for more info, and found an article where some guy in the comments claims to have found it in Google Earth. I looked at the coordinates that he supplied in Earth and sure enough there is something there. Not sure if its the mass of trash or some other weirdness. At any rate you can see the same weird mass using Google Maps too.

Maru Ichi Fix

Had a new member join the club today. He is still on probation, but appears to be a promising new member. We shall see. It was pretty funny when he actually read the menu, noob. 

Don't look too closely at the photo. I wasn't able to get a new one of my lunch today, but it wasn't any different than this (nor should it have been). Kuro FTW! You know, growing up FTW had a different meaning. Did it for anyone else? If so, what? I'll tell you, if you tell me. :)

Went to Fourteen for lunch today. It was doggone delicious. The BBQ and plain old roasted chicken were quite nice. The BBQ chicken was freakin spicy. One of my table mates (who shall go unnamed) was surprised that I could handle the heat! Can you believe that!? I mean, I didn't even realize that it was spicy until my lunch neighbor started crying. Went offsite to Michael's at the Shoreline golf course for lunch. I got the Philly Cheesesteak. Meh. We had great weather. (Any readers from Dublin can stop reading now.) In fact, we actually started to complain about it being too sunny! Once we got a little shade, it was pretty nice to have lunch with everyone.

The Great Salmon Caper

It was bright and warm Autumn afternoon. The lines at BigTable weren't out of the ordinary. In fact, the lines were extra ordinary. The guy behind the counter feverishly grilled the Salmon, stacking each finished master piece on a square white platter. The presentation was amazing. And so was the sauce, the Caper sauce to be specific. The ingredients must have been shipped in from some exotic location on the other side of town. By the time we reached the end of the line, everyone knew what would  happen next: another line would begin.

Sushi Is Fish, Right?

Had some awesome sushi from Charlies today. Pretty damn good. I saw the doc the other day and she said, "...you need to eat more fish [blah blah blah] or you'll die." Whatever I wasn't listening. Anyway, the sushi was pretty freakin great. I am a huge fan of wasabi. If my eyes don't slightly water then I am not using enough.

Something Kind of Different Thursday

You might be thinking: "WTF, Pat? This is Burrito Thursday. What the hell are you doing?" In all honesty, I had a delicious burrito from Andale last night. It was pretty damn good. I find that they taste much better when you eat them right away instead of putting the foil wrapped goodness on the dash of your car for 30 minutes while driving home. They stay surprisingly warm (and good), but lose something along the way. I am not quite sure what though.

So while I was grabbing that burrito last night I noticed that there was a contraption that let you make quesadillas. Yes, you read that right. You can make your own quesadillas in Andale. Today, thats what I tried to do. I ended up using way too much cheese and it started to burn, so I took it off the grill a little early. I didn't want to subject everyone there to the amazing smell of fried cheese. I know that it might not be well received by everyone. See how considerate I am?

I stood in line for 21 minutes to get you this photo. I hope you're freakin happy and enjoy looking at it. So now I have had both the marinara sauce and the alfredo sauce. They are both good, but I have to give the award to the alfredo sauce. It really is better and that's not my opinion, it's a fact. Please note the spoon. This utensil is waaay more effective for bow tie pasta than a dumb little fork. A spork might come close though. Think about that for a little while.

I'd like to apologize to all my fan for the late post. You deserve better. No Name pretty much rocked yesterday. Coffee Crusted Flank Steak? Purple Peruvian Mashers? Pumpkin whatchamacallit? Are you kidding me? Awesome. Don't ask about the metal fork and knife, not sure what happened there. I claim it was the metal utensils that caused the late post and you can't disprove it. I suggest being really careful using metallic utensils on a Monday at No Name, after the 12 noon lunch crowed, on a rainy day, just before playing pool, while drinking a handcrafted Rootbeer that tastes like it was brewed in Heaven (says so on the bottle), when you have a blog post to make about your daily lunch. You have been warned.
